Information and communication technologies are essential for a successful bank with rapidly growing revenues a strategic tool for growth and prosperity. Raiffeisenbank anticipated that the planned centralisation of IT infrastructure would help achieve business objectives, improve resource utilisation, increase SLAs and reduce operating costs. To validate these assumptions, determine the right target and plan the sub-steps of the eventual project, the bank commissioned ORBIT preparation of a strategic analysis.

EXTREME CONDITION

The IT Assessment mapped meaningful scenarios for consolidation and virtualization of IT infrastructure banks, compared available technologies and described metrics to measure their performance in operation.

It also contained variant proposals technical solution on VMware, Citrix and Microsoft software platforms and special setup designs on various hardware platforms with testing on Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Cisco servers and EMC and IBM disk arrays. ROI and TCO calculation with a five-year view. The study concluded designing a sustainable development of the virtual environment taking into account the increase in the number of virtual servers of the bank.

The results of the strategic analysis provided Raiffeisenbank with a comprehensive overview of all possible solutions for consolidation and virtualization of IT infrastructure. The bank was thus able to choose its own priorities (planned investment and operating costs, technology performance, etc.) competently choose the optimal option.
