Czech Savings Bank has decided to fundamentally change its corporate culture in order to get closer to the customerconsistently exploit all business opportunities. The transition to a flexible workplace was expected to support the business and maximise the mobility of the bank's employees in the future. The project was to draw on ORBIT's exceptional experience as a general contractor.

EXTREME CONDITION

Project endpoint virtualization Czech Savings Bank was the largest project of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. An integral part of it was the ORBIT-controlled thorough internal communicationthat minimised the risks of poor project adoption and provided the company's management and 10,000 employees with an insight into the new possibilities associated with virtualisation.

The main output of endpoint virtualization is 7,600 fully centrally managed terminals with more than 200 applications that have replaced traditional desktop computers at all of the bank's locations. Over 650 local servers were removed from the branch network, which resulted in a significant reduction of operating costs. Operation and management of all applications in the virtual environment is now provided by the technology platform Citrix (Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop) and AppSense DesktopNow (Ivanti) takes care of secure access for administrators.
